There’s something truly special about photographing people you care about—and this session with my good  friend Krista and her daughter Emerald was no exception.

We met up at Sand Key Park on a picture-perfect evening. The weather couldn’t have been better—warm sun, a gentle breeze, and that dreamy golden hour light that makes everything feel magical. It was the kind of night that reminds you how beautiful and peaceful the world can be.

Krista, as always, brought her fun loving spirit and radiant smile. She was glowing, both as a person and a proud mom. Emerald, like many teens, wasn’t exactly thrilled to be in front of the camera (and I get it—posing for photos isn’t everyone’s idea of fun). But she showed up with grace, patience, and she did the photoshoot for her mom and that was beautiful. Sometimes the most authentic portraits are the ones that simply reflect where we are in life—and that honesty is something I truly respect and appreciate.

Thank you, Krista and Emerald, for sharing this golden hour with me. Watching the two of you together was a quiet reminder of the beauty in unconditional love. Emerald’s free spirit and quiet strength paired so naturally with Krista’s warmth and steady presence—it’s clear their bond runs deep. This session wasn’t about perfect poses; it was about capturing a real, evolving relationship between a mother and her daughter, full of love, understanding, and respect. I’m so grateful to have witnessed and documented it.

Until the next sunset ✨
